1st grade pop-art

I showed the kids Andy Warhol art and how he used bold colors and repeated images. The kiddos learned how to trace thier own drawings to make copies. Then, each image was colored with a color group from the color wheel (primary, secondary, contrasting, and analogous colors). GREAT JOB!! I love the one that has 16 faces instead of 4. This little guy loves to be different and even made awesome backgrounds!

I am really loving sharpies, markers, and crayons lately. I find myself doodling and coloring (paisley drawings, doodles, and trees)whenever I am sitting still and "bored." I have also become addicted to It is a great site to save ideas and inspirations for teaching. If you like to doodle and want some neat ideas search zentangles!

Well, that is all for now. New photos will be coming when art projects begin to trickle in for the school year.
